Eindhoven, The Netherlands, August 15, 2012 – BenQ, an internationally renowned provider of digital lifestyle innovations and LED monitor expert, today announced that as the official tournament partner and gaming monitor sponsor of Intel Extreme Masters Season 2012/2013, an elite global eSports gaming tour organized by Electronic Sports League, it will be supplying over 200 professional gaming monitors, along with an on-site professional tournament monitor crew, for the new season kick-off event at gamescom 2012. During the event, August 15th to 19th in Cologne, Germany, top gamers from around the world will compete for their titles using BenQ's XL2420T tournament-grade professional gaming monitors, which are co-designed with legendary gamers and gaming professionals from ZOWIE GEAR to deliver the ultimate competitive edge. BenQ was the first-ever monitor sponsor in Intel Extreme Masters history, and now it is on the way to its second consecutive season, offering a total of over 600 tournament-grade monitors as it makes all the stops in Europe, Asia and South America.
"This is certainly an exciting year for us all. As we look forward to another exceptional season of Intel Extreme Masters tournament, we are very proud to see how our strong belief of 'Gaming Is in the Details' has contributed positively to the unrivaled performance of our professional gaming monitors, as well as the steady increase in our monitor sales growth. An impressive 200% unit sales growth for the XL Series in 2012 1H, as compared to 2011 1H, shows that demands are quite high. By introducing the RL Series into the market in 2011 2H, we were able to fulfill the viewing demands of more types of gamers while expanding our market coverage," Peter Chen, EVP and General Manager of BenQ Technology Product Center. "As we continue to bring our best to the game, pushing for unsurpassed visual image quality and cutting-edge display features, we hope to grow continually with the gamers and the community. Hopefully by 2013, we can celebrate an increase of more than 30% in sales."
"We are truly honored to participate in the Intel Extreme Masters for the second consecutive season," said Adams Lee, President of BenQ Europe. "Partnering with Intel Extreme Masters has not only connected us with the most elite gaming professionals in the industry, but also allowed us to stand by the most prominent gamers in Europe. It's a great feeling to see more and more gamers choosing to train with our gaming monitors. We simply cannot wait for the season to start. We're ready to root for the community!"
The XL and RL Series may be the official gaming monitors of the world's most elite gaming tournament; they are certainly not the only things to look out for. BenQ has also announced two team sponsorships for the new Intel Extreme Masters season: M5.BenQ from Russia, the LoL world champions of Intel Extreme Masters Season 6, officially boarded in June, and ESC from Poland, the Counter-Strike world champions of Intel Extreme Masters Season 6, became a BenQ partner in August. What's more, debuting in the upcoming Intel Extreme Masters Cologne event is BenQ's very own professional tournament crew, which is put together to assist gamers at each stop of the tour, personalizing the calibration settings of their tournament monitors and familiarizing them with the special features. The purpose of this service is to bring out the best of gamers' gameplay performances and help them achieve even higher success.
Also, Manuel "Grubby" Schenkhuizen, BenQ's first Intel Extreme Masters Ambassador will hit the road, staring in the upcoming Intel Extreme Masters Cologne, to share with gamers his preference for gaming display and to work with BenQ's on-site professional tournament crew in providing professional inputs on how to bring out the best of gamers' gameplay performances. Stay tuned and look for Ambassador Grubby in Cologne, followed by other Intel Extreme Masters stops.
Last but not least, during gamescom, BenQ will partner up with ESC, M5.BenQ and Grubby to kick off this season not only with tons of excitement but also lots of love for their fans! An autograph session will be arranged at the Intel Extreme Masters trophy corner, so be sure to pay it a visit!
