EINDHOVEN, THE NETHERLANDS, 21 NOVEMBER 2022 – This year, in conjunction with its annual photo competition, BenQ will donate to the World Food Programme (WFP). For every qualified competition entry, from hobby and professional photographers Europe-wide, BenQ will forward 5 euros to the WFP.
“BenQ’s corporate social responsibility is multi-faceted. At the same time, all our activities, share the same goal. That is to contribute to the well-being of society,” Steve Chu, President of BenQ Europe, comments.
“One of these facets is our yearly PhotoVue competition. This year, we are searching for creative minds to deliver their photographic take on the fascinating, colourful and diverse subject of cultural heritage. Correlating with our brand promise – ‘Because it matters’ - we are addressing the flip side of the world’s beauty and considering the world’s most needy. Therefore, we are pleased to announce that we will be donating to the World Food Programme.”
The World Food Programme is the world’s largest humanitarian organisation. Almost 21,000 staff worldwide work in over 120 countries and territories to bring life-saving food to people displaced by conflict and made destitute by disasters, and help individuals and communities find life-changing solutions to the multiple challenges they face. https://www.wfp.org/
Captivating Cultural Heritage
With the launch of its 2022 PhotoVue competition, BenQ invites all hobby photographers or professionals to capture this inspiring and stimulating subject and in doing so helps support a good cause. With each qualifying entry BenQ donates 5 euros to the World Food Programme.
BenQ’s 2022 competition is open to all photographers with residency in EU to portray their take on cultural traditions, customs and values which can be channelled through shots of traditional dress, food, celebrations and artefacts or buildings. Every entry that qualifies automatically initiates a 5-euro donation from BenQ to WFP.
Details of the exact requirements to participate are available here: BenQ PhotoVue Competition - Cultural Heritage. The 2022 photographic competition will also be supported by BenQ’s partner, the digital imaging and graphics specialists LUMESCA GROUP.
BenQ PhotoVue prizes await a total of four winners: The top prize consists of two BenQ SW271C monitors and one HB27 Shading Hood Bridge. The winner of the second prize can look forward to two BenQ SW270C monitors and one HB27 Shading Hood Bridge. And the winner of the third position will be rewarded with a BenQ SW270C. This year’s new category “People’s Winner” will receive a BenQ SW321C. BenQ will present a round-up of its favourite entries, and present these to the public who then have five days to cast their vote and decide on the “People’s Winner”. The final vote on “People’s Winner” will be announced on 22 December.
About this years’ jury
The winners will be chosen by three judges who are specialists in different photographic fields. This year’s team of specialist comprises: Jon Hernandez, a BenQ Ambassador, educator and commercial photographer with a technical approach to creativity and who is based in Barcelona; Joanna Lemanska – aka misscoolpics, professional lifestyle, travel and street photographer based in Paris. Laura Oppelt – self-taught photographer based in Germany, specialising in landscape photography.
Deadline for entries is 9 December 2022. Winners will be announced on three consecutive days: 3rd place winner on 19 December, 2nd place winner on 20 December, and 1st place winner on 21 December.
