Eindhoven, Netherlands, March 1, 2018, – BenQ, the internationally renowned provider of digital lifestyle devices, today announced the achievement of world’s first TÜV Rheinland certification for Intelligent Display, High Contrast 3000:1, and Flicker-Free performance of BenQ eye-care monitors. Leading the world with pioneering Flicker-Free TÜV certification in 2013, Low Blue Light in 2014, and High Contrast 3000:1 in 2016, BenQ eye-care monitors today offer the industry’s only Intelligent Display TÜV certification with patented Brightness Intelligence Technology.
The global authority in display certification, TÜV Rheinland comprises highly respected professionals and state-of-the-art testing facilities that measure response time, environmental brightness, flicker-free performance, blue-light strength and wavelengths of monitors, mobile devices, and laptops to ensure viewing comfort, eye health, and workplace safety.
“Covering a score of models from 22” to 32” across four series of eye-care monitors designed for every need, our latest achievement with TÜV Rheinland assures that consumers and professionals alike can be confident that BenQ is safeguarding their vision health, eye care, and viewing comfort, ” said Conway Lee, President of BenQ Corporation. “ Demonstrating our leadership of the eye-care market, we are proud to announce our international patents on Brightness Intelligence and Brightness Intelligence Plus technologies, and the world-first certification for intelligent display with high contrast and flicker-free performance.”
First TÜV Certified Intelligent Display with Patented Brightness Intelligence Technology
Awarded international technology patents in US and Taiwan, BenQ Brightness Intelligence, and Brightness Intelligence Plus technologies actively detect ambient color temperature or environmental brightness to automatically adjust display brightness and color temperature for the most comfortable and accurate viewing experience. BenQ’s sophisticated real-time algorithms avoid overexposure in bright scenes while preserving subtle details in dark scenes to deliver optimal clarity and color quality, earning TÜV Rheinland’s first-ever certification for Intelligent Display Technology combined with High Contrast 3000:1 and Flicker-Free eye-care technology.
BenQ Heritage of Eye-Care Leadership
As the first manufacturer to achieve flicker-free LCD monitor certification in 2013, this announcement is the latest in a string of BenQ’s historical firsts in eye-care technology. BenQ Flicker-Free Technology eliminated fatigue-inducing flicker at all brightness levels, ensuring maximum user comfort. Unlike conventional LCD screens that imperceptibly flicker 250 times per second, BenQ eye-care monitors provide immediate relief from eyestrain.
In 2014, BenQ Low Blue Light Technology filtered harmful blue light in successive stages depending on content to prevent eye fatigue. BenQ Low Blue Light Plus Technology took a step further, protecting against hazardous short-wavelength high energy blue-violet radiation in wavelengths from 420nm to 455nm while allowing beneficial blue-turquoise light in the 455nm – 480nm range to eliminate eye irritation without degradation to picture quality.
Following in 2016, High Contrast 3,000:1 TÜV certification ensured that BenQ eye-care monitors produce up to three times the contrast of typical monitors, for superb color depth and exquisite detail in dark, complex images.
Promoting vision health and comfort without eye fatigue while preserving uncompromised picture quality, BenQ eye-care monitors protect a wide range of users from families at home and general office workers to creative professionals and video enthusiasts.
