EINDHOVEN, THE NETHERLANDS, 23 JUN 2023 – BenQ, an internationally renowned brand of digital lifestyle devices and innovator of professional display technology, has launched the SW272U and SW272Q, the latest generation of PhotoVue professional photography monitors. Featuring exclusive Fine-Coating panel technology and certified colour quality, these 27-inch 4K and 2K photographer monitors advance the pursuit of perfect performance that photographers and video editors have entrusted to BenQ PhotoVue monitors for many years.
“Our pursuit of perfection never ends, and with the new generation of BenQ PhotoVue monitors, the SW272U and SW272Q, we are committed to providing photographers and colour experts with spectacular user experiences that exceed industry standards,” said Conway Lee, President of BenQ Corporation.
PhotoVue monitors utilise BenQ's proprietary AQCOLOR Technology, which provides individually factory-calibrated colour quality that is further enhanced by the new Fine-Coating panel. This panel is certified by TÜV Rheinland for reflection-free performance, resulting in a paper-like screen effect. When combined with BenQ's Paper Color Sync software, it delivers 99% coverage of Adobe RGB, DCI-P3, and Display P3 wide colour gamuts with ΔE ≤ 1.5 colour accuracy, providing an industry-leading platform for accurate photo editing and reliable reproduction of printed output.
Further enhancing the colour performance of PhotoVue monitors, BenQ's third-generation Uniformity and Color Consistency technologies use high-precision equipment to adjust hundreds of sub-regions of the screen. This ensures precise colours throughout the entire display and perfect colour matching across multiple monitors.
The PhotoVue SW272U and SW272Q monitors are certified by Pantone® Validated, Pantone® SkinTone, and CalMan Verified for their colour performance and calibration. Hardware calibration is facilitated by Palette Master Ultimate, BenQ's exclusive, powerful, yet intuitive colour management software popular among colour professionals. The monitors also offer full support for Calman, Colorspace, and other third-party photography and videography calibration solutions.
The new-generation PhotoVue models feature a detachable shading hood bridge, allowing for dual operation as standalone screens or multiple hooded monitor setups. These monitors provide the best-in-class creative experiences with an aesthetically functional design, including a leatherette pad at the base for the safe placement of digital cameras, calibrators, and other devices. Additionally, the monitors come with USB-C connectivity, providing 90W of power delivery.
BenQ's commitment to colour-critical markets is exemplified by its partnership with Pantone®, which serves the global community of colour professionals who depend on the Pantone® system for colour accuracy. The new PhotoVue monitors come with a one-year free subscription to Pantone Connect Premium, enabling photographers, video editors, and designers to share accurate colour palettes and collaborate with team members, clients, marketers, and printers via the cloud from a mobile app.
