Please note that currently, MacBooks do not support the output of HDCP video content through docking stations with DisplayLink technology (such as the DP1310). This type of content usually includes:
1. Protected digital video content, such as Blu-ray and DVD.
2. Any video streaming content from online platforms, such as Netflix, Hulu,
Amazon Prime Video, iTunes, Disney+, and YouTube TV.
To overcome HDCP restrictions, you can use the following methods to watch HDCP video streaming content with DP1310:
1. Connect the streaming video source with an HDMI cable instead of a USB-C
cable. This way, you can bypass USB-C's HDCP restrictions.
2. Use Google Chrome, and click on the three-dot menu at the top
right-hand side, then select【Settings】.
Then, you can go to the search bar on the top and input【Hardware Acceleration】.
And switch it off. Once it is off, restart the browser, and then you can start to watch HDCP content.
3. Turn off the DisplayLink Manager driver to play HDCP content.
You can follow the below steps:
When you want to play HDCP contents, click on the DisplayLink menu and
select 【Quit】to close DisplayLink Manager. However, please be aware that
once DisplayLink Manager is closed, the monitors will stop showing HDMI
OUT 2 and DisplayPort OUT 3 video signals. So when you finished viewing
HDCP content, turn the DisplayLink Manager driver back on to allow
monitors connected to HDMI OUT 2 and DisplayPort OUT 3 to display video
signals again.
