Why is LaptopBar not attaching to my laptop?

Please make sure the magnet patch is attached to your laptop case. Also, note that the lamp body only has magnetic structures on the surface with positioning grooves, which can be magnetically attached to the magnet patch on your laptop case. That side (with the grooves) must face the magnet patch for attachment to work.
