2021 BenQ DesignVue competition - Inspired by Nature

In the past year, we’ve all spent more time outdoors enjoying wide open spaces, and there’s no doubt that the time we spent in nature has benefitted both our mental and physical wellbeing. Experiencing the wonders of nature can also boost creativity, and it’s no secret that throughout the years, artists, sculptors, designers, inventors, architects and scientists, have all drawn inspiration from nature in coming up with reinvigorating and unique designs.

To celebrate our love of nature and challenge your creativity, we are launching a new competition: design a screensaver that’s inspired by nature for the chance to win a BenQ DesignVue monitor and €1,000. We want to see different natural styles and textures, whether it’s leafy, floral, or herbal patterns, earth-tone colour schemes or illustrations of breath-taking vistas; let nature be your muse!

As a thank you for taking part in our competition (and to Mother Nature), we pledge to plant one tree for every qualifying competition entry, with the help of OneTreePlanted. So, if you’re a designer or know a designer, make sure to spread the word so we can make the world a greener place together.

There are a few rules you will need to follow:

1. Create a screensaver design that’s inspired by nature
2. Download the AQCOLOR frame we created for the competition from here
3. Drop your screensaver design* in the frame
4. Upload the final image on Instagram, and in the description, add the hashtags #benqnature, #AQCOLOR and mention @aqcolor_by_benq. Make sure to add your country in the description too.
5. Last but not least, follow @aqcolor_by_benq on Instagram.

*Simple photo submissions will not be considered as valid entries. Your screensaver must be a design.  

Prizes:

• First place: one brand-new BenQ PD2725U monitor and €1,000
• Second place: one brand-new BenQ PD2725U monitor and €500
• Third place: one brand-new BenQ PD2725U monitor

As usual, we have a team of specialist Judges who will help us select the winners:

• Flóra Borsi – visual artist and self-taught Photoshop queen from Hungary
• Martin Perhiniak – graphic designer, digital artist, and Adobe Expert Instructor living in London
• Nemanja Sekulic – photographer, digital artist, and educator from Serbia

About the PD2725U monitor:

Your original screensaver image must be 3840 x 2160, 16:9 aspect ratio. The deadline for uploading your entry is the 30^th of November 2021 and the winners will be announced on or shortly after the 15^th of December 2021 on our Instagram profile. Terms & Conditions

1. This competition is open to people aged 18 and over who upload their original work to “Instagram” and complete the following actions –
   I.  Create an original screensaver that’s inspired by nature
   II.  Download the AQCOLOR frame from our website
   III.  Drop their design in the frame
   IV.  Upload the final image on Instagram, and in the description, add the hashtags #benqnature, #AQCOLOR, add their country name, and mention @aqcolor_by_benq in the description.
   V.   Follow us on Instagram @aqcolor_by_benq
2. Any entries that are considered dangerous, vulgar, offensive, indecent, illegal, racist, copied, cruel or fraudulent, or infringe on the rights or copyright of others will be immediately disqualified.
3. The contest is open to European residents only.
4. Employees or agencies of BenQ or their family members or anyone else connected with the competition judging and winner selection may not enter the competition.
5. Entrants into the competition shall be deemed to have accepted these Terms and Conditions.
6. Only one entry per person. Entries on behalf of another person will not be accepted, and joint submissions are not allowed.
7. The closing date of the competition is the 30^th of November 2021. Entries uploaded after this time will not be considered.
8. BenQ Europe B.V. accepts no responsibility for any additional costs associated with the prize and not specifically included in the prize.
9. The competition will have one first-prize winner, one second-prize winner, and one third-prize winner. The first-prize winner will receive a BenQ PD2725U DesignVue monitor and a 1,000 Euro prize money. This prize includes delivery costs. The second-prize winner will receive a BenQ PD2725U DesignVue monitor and a 500 Euro prize money. This prize also includes delivery costs. The third-prize winner will receive a BenQ PD2725U DesignVue monitor. This prize also includes delivery costs. The winners will receive their monetary prize in their local currency at the current exchange rate at the time the prize is awarded.
10. The winners will be determined by a team of three Judges. When choosing the winners, the Judges will be looking for the most well-composed, artistic, and original image that evokes the best interpretation of the theme “Inspired by nature”. 
11. The winners will be notified on Instagram via Direct Message on or shortly after the 15^th of December 2021 and must respond to BenQ Europe B.V. within 3 days of being notified. Failure to do so will result in the winner’s prize being forfeited and BenQ Europe B.V. shall be entitled to select another winner in accordance with the process described above (and that winner will have to respond to notification of their win within 3 days or else they will also forfeit their prize). If a winner rejects their prize or the entry is invalid or in breach of these Terms and Conditions, the winner’s prize will be forfeited and BenQ Europe B.V. shall be entitled to select another winner.
12. For the prizes to be validated, all winners will be asked to provide the working file of their competition entry. Failure to provide this will result in the cancellation of the prize and the selection of a new winner.
13. The image must be 3840 x 2160, 16:9 aspect ratio.
14. The prize is non-exchangeable, non-transferable, and is not redeemable for cash or other prizes.
15. BenQ reserves the right, at any point, to cancel the competition. This means no winners will be chosen, and no prizes awarded. If cancellation does occur, competition entrants’ work will remain their own and not be used by BenQ in any circumstances.
16. If you are one of the winners, BenQ Europe B.V. may request that you participate in publicity or promotion organised by BenQ Europe B.V. including a selection of the winners’ entries, which BenQ Europe B.V. will be granted image rights for publicity purposes.
17. Copyright is retained by its respective creator; however, no financial compensation will be offered for this.
18. The Competition will be governed by English law, and entrants to the Competition submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
19. BenQ Europe B.V. accepts no responsibility for any damage, loss, liabilities, injury or disappointment incurred or suffered by you as a result of entering the competition or accepting the prize.
