When using macOS for the first time, I was asked to install the DisplayLink driver. Why did it also ask me to permit screen recording?

Screen recording should be permitted for DisplayLink Manager to generate extended displays to project on multiple screens.

Granting DisplayLink Manager permission does not mean it will record actual macOS screens or send any screen information back to DisplayLink.
